Next Stop… Seattle.

At the beginning of this year, I indicated some big changes were going to happen for me, and at the time one of the biggest was just a possible idea, but is now pretty much a done deal. I have made the decision to move from Minnesota to Washington State… specifically the Seattle/Tacoma area.

It will be a very big change for me, as I have never lived outside of about a 30 or so mile radius of Minneapolis, but it is a change I am very much looking forward to. I have a friend that has invited me to stay with them while I initially get settled, I’ve already been contacted by some bariatric centers about speaking to their support groups, and because of past events I’ve done and groups I’ve been involved with I already “know” a number of people in the general area. And while I will really really miss my family here, I do have family a few hours south in Oregon, so I will not be entirely cut off.

While I have never been there, from the photos my friend shares, it is a beautiful part of the country and I am looking forward to joining my friend in further exploring it. I have not gotten to spend nearly as much time as I would like out exploring nature this last year, and that is something I definitely plan on fixing this year.

I will be continuing to reach out to folks looking for my help as a health coach, both in this area and out in Washington. I will not actually be moving until June, but I am also working on adding to the programs I offer so I will be able to work with folks remotely using online tools such as Skype or Google Hangouts.

I often talk about how nutrition is about more than just what you eat - you need to feed your spirit as well, and this is a major part of me feeing my spirit, in taking care of myself. It will be a challenge, but it one I am very much looking forward too. I will be posting further updates on Facebook and Twitter as the big move approaches.
