Point Defiance Park
Sunday I decided I just needed to wander a bit… but didn’t have the opportunity to go far from home. Fortunately, I didn’t need to… right in Tacoma is Point Defiance Park. It’s a nice park that juts out in to the sound basically between the Narrows and Commencement Bay. There’s a number of trails as well as a scenic loop drive that follow around the point and have stops at a number of overlooks.
So besides giving you a bit of a look at the park, I also spend some time talking about why I decided to start videotaping these hikes. I’ve actually been doing little clips for about a year… mostly just sharing a few here and there on Facebook. I’ll be putting more of them together in a more formal format and adding them to my YouTube channel. At first, it was just about sharing my outdoor experiences with others, mainly friends and family. But… as you’ll hear in this particular video… given that I’m doing this via Positively Healthy here… might as well incorporate some of the things I do regarding healthy living as well.
Check out the video… no additional photos here this time, the few photos I took are all incorporated in to the video. As a bonus, you get some footage of “galloping gertie” and an orca swimming by… If you like the videos, I’ll do the obligatory request for likes and subscribing… oh, and if you know what the fungus in the opening shot… leave a comment!
