Lessons Learned - Just Get Out There
Over the years, I've come to realize there are many lessons to be learned while enjoying the great outdoors that can apply to the overall road towards a positively healthy life, and I've found a way to share that with others through discussions over some of the many photos I've taken on my own adventures. These posts are not meant to provide all the answers, but rather prompt a discussion. Please feel free to join in...
The obstacles ahead of us wanting to start down a new path can seem insurmountable. And they will be, if we don’t take that first step, if we don’t just get out there.
I’ve joked in the past about how I can’t fail if I don’t try. And there are times I still feel that way about different challenges. It’s not always easy to take that first step, that’s where many of the previous lessons come into play. Hopefully they give you some of the inspiration and confidence to take those first steps.
When thinking about this, I can’t help but recall the “Put one foot in front of the other” scene from the animated classic, Santa Clause is Coming to Town. We may need encouragement from others, or maybe we can tackle it on our own, but the only way we’ll make progress is by getting out there, taking that first step.
The steps you make don’t need to be big, they just need to take you in the right direction.
Is there a challenge you’re currently facing? Maybe even avoiding? What can we do to help? Let us know in the comments.
The point of these topics is not for just me to just share them and move on, but rather to foster some discussion on these ideas and how they apply in "your" life. We're not sitting around the same table, but we can still have a discussion. Just leave your own thoughts in the comments below, or send them to me privately if you prefer. I have been putting myself out there lately - submitting proposals for speaking requests, podcasts, etc. with the thought that the worst thing that can happen is they say no. Maybe not the same thing, but somehow it’s making me braver. And I am a big believer in progress over perfection.
It’s very much the same. It’s about a healthier you, growing, etc. Did you submit for the YWM/OAC conference?
I did! And WLSFA as well. It’s a Vegas year 🙂 I see you are also an IIN grad!
Well hope to see you there! And yes, my sister is now as well. She’s actually doing something related at this point… me.. not so much. http://inspiredvitality.life
I will be there, for sure, whether I am speaking or not. I’m shifting my coaching to be fully focused on bariatric support!
