Denver or Bust Road Trip – Day 3
After waking up in the mountains, we checked out a couple of lakes on our way south, including Bonnie’s namesake. Then we stopped at Bridal Veil Falls near Provo, before we continued down to Moab.
We got set up in camp at the ACT Campground and Environmental Learning Center in Moab. It was a pretty nice place, just off the main road as you’re heading South out of “downtown”. They’re geared mainly towards RVs, but they have a Yurt, a few minimalist rooms, and some small tent sites (which is where we stayed). They have a shared kitchen area that we made use of during the couple days we stayed in Moab, and the overall facilities were well maintained, I would recommend them if you need a pretty inexpensive way to experience the area.
After getting our tent set up, we stopped at a grocery store in town to get a couple sandwiches and headed to Arches National Park. We were able to check out the area around Balanced Rock before getting up to Panorama Point in time for a sunset “picnic”.
